Tim Worrall / Director
Tim Worrall was educated at Merchant Taylors School Crosby and the University of Durham where he took a first in Economics and Law, followed by a distinction at London Business School.
His business career spans over 45 years, starting with General Motors where he became the youngest member of the world-wide senior executive group. His first appointment as a divisional Managing Director came at British Leyland under Michael Edwardes’ leadership, followed by a term as Chief Executive of GKN’s Autoparts UK Division.
He then moved into the motor retail sector, head-hunted to run Quicks Group PLC, his first appointment as Managing Director of a public company. He subsequently led a buy-in of a group of Ford and Iveco-Ford dealerships, backed by private equity.
In 1999, in what he terms his ‘third age’, he bought a small management consultancy and merged it with a larger one, forming Diligencia. The consultancy focused principally on management due diligence, with Tim becoming a leading practitioner. In 2015 after a five-year earn-out he retired from partnership and set up Avalon Management Consulting Ltd.
Stephen Shepherd / Associate
A qualified accountant with strong interpersonal skills and commercial know-how developed through a long career in the automotive sector.
28 years with Volkswagen Group (VWG) United Kingdom Limited at board and senior level across many disciplines.
Particular expertise in dealer network development, also experience in sales operations, logistics and people development as well as earlier financial positions.
Major achievements include leading on strategic relocation of VWG parts logistics operation to Dordon, managing VWG sponsored dealer programme, and redesign and implementation of SKODA UK Network strategy; also worked in SKODA Auto CZ international team developing new European standards.
Retired early from VWG to take up non-executive and operational support roles with medium-sized motor retail groups.
Linda Watson / Associate
Linda is an experienced Assessment, Development and Career Management Consultant. Her corporate career includes a variety of roles including Partner, Diligencia LLP, at the time a thought leading strategic management consultancy specialising in Management Due Diligence, and Regional Director of a UK subsidiary of a global Career and Change Management Consultancy, Drake Beam Morin.
Her consulting work includes supporting the organisational and capability initiatives of businesses as they execute their strategic plans, designing and delivering assessment and development programmes, to both individuals and teams, and providing coaching in the areas of performance and career management. She has worked across a variety of industry sectors, ranging from automotive, construction, building services, food, soaps and detergents, through to legal, accountancy and corporate finance professional services and including IT.
